As a DJ/producer,Gavin Hardkiss helped lead the American electronic dance scene in the ’90s with the groundbreaking record label Hardkiss Music along with “brothers”, Robbie Hardkiss, and Scott Hardkiss. The trio pioneered an eclectic, trippy “West Coast Sound” with tracks like the seminal God Within “Raincry”, and that quickly propelled them into the ranks of the international DJ elite, jetting to raves and clubs around the world to perform their eclectic sets.
Gavin recently and unexepectedly released a novel–Cubic Lust. It is a tantalizing tale of a young DJ set in Hong Kong over a period of 24 hours. The story takes a journey of erotic, sensual drug induced twists and turns exploring the nomadic life of a DJ as lived in airports, nightclubs and after parties. As you delve into the poetic twisted yet somewhat familiar scenes you can’t help but have a naughty smile and get sucked into the stream of consciousness of this young DJ as he consumes the finest women, drugs, and music. Its an enthralling read.
Gavin Hardkiss has recorded multiple genre defying albums as Hawke and continues to release music under various guises. This summer he is releasing new singles,“Revolution” and “Flowers Blooming”, produced with cohort Robbie Hardkiss.
